Chapter Twenty-nine
They soared between twin cities suspended in the sky.
They navigated through massive caves.
They zoomed above the clouds into the night, only to dive back down into the day.
They darted through wondrous multicolored rain.
They flew until they reached Quicker Cove… .
“We’re here,” DiVarion said as they neared an extremely large cove. It was so wide that it had room for an island in its center, where there was a five-story circular white building that seemed to be constructed of a material similar to porcelain. It had large blue windows all around it that reflected the light.
They landed on the far side of the cove and crossed the water on a bridge that extended toward the island as they stepped forward. When they reached land, the bridge retracted again. They entered the building through a clear glass door. The white lobby was lit by blue light from the windows and by a violet light that outlined the top of the ceiling. There was a high desk but no one behind it. Soon, though, a woman strode in.
Emyli FyneStory was unique to say the least. She was in her late twenties and quite attractive. Actually, very, very attractive.
“Hello, Emyli, I have some important guests with me,” DiVarion said.
She stared at the three children wearing Alonis Medallions, and then abruptly said, “You’re Favorites. You’ve crossed Olivion’s Gate; you’ve met the Olivion. My information is inconclusive on both; please tell me all that you can about them.”
“Emyli, Emyli, Emyli, there’ll be time for that. You haven’t even been introduced. Where are your manners? Not to mention, they’ve traveled here to ask you a few questions,” DiVarion said.
“Ask me questions? What I know is nothing compared to what they must know. They’ve met the Olivion! The Olivion knows all,” Emyli said.
“We’re sorry to disappoint you, but we don’t know much,” Devon said.
“Everyone goes on about the Olivion and how we’re Favorites, but it doesn’t seem to be all that,” Cyndi added.
“Yeah, but hey, do you know Perilynn? Do you know how I can get to him? He’s in the Infinite Abyss,” Louis said.
“Wait a minute! I know we’ve shown up unannounced, but can we have a few chairs? Seriously, there’s no need to do away with the simplest of pleasantries. I’m one for the pleasantries,” DiVarion said, turning to the children with a smile. He was a good, kind man, Louis thought. Emyli was good in ways but not nearly as good as DiVarion. Louis didn’t know much about her, but he knew that.
“Oh, of course. Follow me. I just got caught up in the moment,” she said as she led them through the building. “Well, I’m Emyli FyneStory, as I’m sure DiVarion has told you. You there, who is the perfect shade of brown, what’s your name?” Emyli said, looking at Louis.
“I’m Louis Proof. Nice to meet you,” Louis said.
“Likewise, Mr. Louis Proof. iLone of course.
